European Banking & Insurance Fair - The European Market Place for Financial Services Solutions
Tue 18 - Thu 20 November 2008 - Frankfurt am Main, Exhibition Grounds, Hall 5.1

Expertise from Great Britain

27 September 2004, Wiesbaden - For the first time, British IT specialists will be presenting themselves at the European Banking & Insurance Fair (E.B.I.F.) under a single roof.

In the “British Pavilion”, they will be showing trade visitors from the Continent solutions that have already proven themselves with domestic and global clients alike. “The Continental European finance market is on the move – banks and insurance companies are in the midst of an exciting period of change,” according to Richard Kidd of the British trade association “Intellect”, which represents companies from the information technology, telecommunications and electronics sectors. “Our companies are coming to the E.B.I.F. to personally introduce a qualified trade public to the solutions they need in today’s market.”

Whether it’s a question of risk management, standardisation, in-house communication or electronic business systems – well known British companies such as Cititec or Eurobase International will use the industry event in Frankfurt, bringing excellent references along with them. The IT services provider Cititec, for instance, works on behalf of renowned business consultancies, providing support for financial institutions such as the Bank of America, BNP Paribas and Dekabank. Depending on the needs at hand, Cititec can provide entire project teams for SAP implementation, for example, or deliver consultants for highly specialised systems such as for trade in derivatives, corporate bond issues or exotic financial products.

Eurobase International, a finance software specialist, will present its Java-based system for treasury management, which, among other things, gives managers real-time control of the entire treasury area, 24 hours a day and around the globe. The enhanced version, Siena STP, permits general further processing through to the back office. Beyond this, with RiskFree, its risk management system, Eurobase International appeals to banks and other financial institutions, investment managers and big businesses. “The system’s greatest advantage is that it covers all of the market risks for all asset classes and can map value at risk, both for the entire organisation and at a very fine-tuned level as well,” emphasises Sales Manager Silke Zimmermann.

For Thomas Schütz, Managing Director at Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen, which is host to the E.B.I.F., the British Pavilion is a trade fair highlight: “The British financial market is a powerful force within Europe. Still, Central Europe – the larger EU and the growing profitability of European banks – is gaining in significance, from London’s point of view as well. The British Pavilion is an expression of this development.” Richard Kidd adds: “We have the impression that German banks and insurance companies in particular take a very keen interest in top solutions. They are pursuing rationalisation within their own ranks in order to improve the ratio between expenditures and income – and in the process, they are stressing demanding, forward-looking IT“.

The E.B.I.F., the leading trade fair for finance technology, will be held from 25-28 October 2004 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
