The tenth E.B.I.F.: The doors are open
Frankfurt, November 20, 2007 – The tenth European Banking & Insurance Fair (E.B.I.F.) opened its doors at the Frankfurt trade fair grounds this morning with the symbolic cutting of the red ribbon. Among those present at the official opening ceremony were Dr. Petra Roth (the mayor of Frankfurt), Dr. Walter Arnold (Undersecretary of State), Dr. Nader Maleki (CEO of the Maleki Group), Detlef Braun (Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Exhibitions) and Thomas Schütz (Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen).
Several thousand international trade visitors are expected for the European technology trade fair for banks and insurance companies, which takes place from 20 to 22 November 2007. New standards in hands-on knowledge are being set by the Business Solutions Forum, which is being held for the first time this year and which was organised together with the Maleki Group. On all three days, renowned IT service providers present concrete best practice solutions here together with their customers from banks and insurance companies. “Combining theory and practice” is the order of the day.
In her speech at the opening ceremony of the E.B.I.F, Frankfurt’s mayor Dr. Petra Roth declared: “I am delighted that the tenth European Banking & Insurance Fair has been opened today. This year’s trade fair will once again bring the international financial community together in Frankfurt. The high level of interest among the trade visitors is a clear indication of the importance of financial IT, particularly in the present day. Frankfurt’s international reputation as a leading financial centre is enhanced even further by the positive feedback from the financial sector in Europe and further afield.”
Thomas Schütz, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen GmbH, which is responsible for organising the E.B.I.F. together with the Maleki Group, said at the official opening: “This year marks the tenth anniversary of the E.B.I.F. In recent years, the event has established itself as the leading European trade fair for IT solutions designed for banks and insurance companies. This is because it offers international exhibitors and visitors the ideal platform to interact with one another and exchange information on the latest developments in financial IT. This year, through the introduction of the Business Solution Forum, we are extending our partnership with the Euro Finance Week and expect a high level of interest from trade visitors in this regard.” Dr. Nader Maleki, CEO of the Maleki Group, is very pleased with the extension of the cooperation as well. “We have already worked together closely in the past years, but with the Business Solution Forum we created a completely new interconnection between the two events “, says Dr. Nader Maleki.
Among this year’s first-time exhibitors is von Hagen GmbH, a company specialising in international trade fair construction and design – the first company of its kind to exhibit at the E.B.I.F. “We offer interesting space solutions for all kinds of set-ups and look forward to interacting with visitors and making new contacts among the decision-makers of the financial sector”, says Managing Partner Axel von Hagen.
Several thousand international users and decision-makers from financial and insurance institutions are expected, making this event Europe’s largest independent technology trade fair for the banking and insurance sector. This year, the E.B.I.F. will once again be taking place within the framework of Euro Finance Week, the high-powered industry gathering of the European finance and insurance sectors in one of Europe’s most important financial centres.
